One of Hilton Head Island’s most serene and beautiful areas is Shipyard. It is located between Sea Pines and Palmetto Dunes, within easy reach of shops, restaurants and attractions. A winding two lane road bordered by lagoons, woods and golf fairways provides access to vacation rental private homes, villas, condos and of course, the beach.
There are no oceanfront rental accommodations, but plenty of vacation rental by owner places are within walking or biking distance to the beach. The resort’s beach club provides access to the beach and shower facilities. Bike paths are cloaked with a tapestry of live oaks, tall pines and Spanish moss. A maze of lagoons provides a habitat for deer, egrets, herons and alligators, and a source of freshwater catch for the fisherman.
Tee up at the Shipyard Golf Club where 27 holes satisfy all levels of play. If tennis is your game, Van der Meer Shipyard Tennis Resort is ideal for both play and instruction. The Van der Meer organization hosts all adult programming at this 20-court complex. Midweek and weekend clinics are available year-round. Our villa is within easy walking distance of the beach and but a stones' throw from the swimming pool. There are two bedrooms and two baths on the upper floor. There is a king size bed in the master (with TV) and two twins in the guest room. We also have a roll-a-way twin bed in case there is an additional guest. A washer/dryer is available if needed; hopefully our iron and ironing board will continue to see little nstairs you'll find a bright and cheerful living / dining area (with WiFi-DSL, TV, VCR and DVD) plus a fully equipped kitchen,adjoining breakfast nook and half bath. The far end of the living area is all glass from which to watch the golfers pass by on the 7th fairway. There is also a small deck equipped with tables and chairs from which to enjoy a book or a "wine and cheese" party in the evening. You'll find various beach chairs and an assortment of "beach items" in the storage shed. There is also a bike for your enjoyment.
