Celebrate Mom on Hilton Head Island
It’s that time again to celebrate one of our favorite women in the world – Mom! Why not treat Mom to a special weekend on Hilton Head Island? May is a wonderful time to be on Hilton Head, with near perfect weather and all lots of fun activities and places to visit.
The history of Mother’s Day dates back to 1908 and was created by Anna Jarvis of West Virginia. Anna Jarvis wanted to accomplish her mother's dream of making a celebration for all mothers. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson declared it an official national holiday and Mother's Day remains one of the biggest holidays each year when Mothers everywhere are treated to flowers, greeting cards, and the gifts from their children that adore them. Now, Mother’s Day is celebrated the 2nd Sunday of May each year.
There are many activities that Mom would enjoy on Mother’s day Weekend on Hilton Head Island. For Mother’s who enjoy the arts, plan to take Mom to a performance or exhibit at the Bravo Arts and Cultural Festival. Another fun idea for Mom is to take her to a picnic at one of the beautiful parks on the Island. Some Moms will also having a special day spending time at the beach just relaxing and soaking up the sunshine. Whether you take Mom to one of the Island’s restaurants for a special Mother’s Day brunch or dinner or treat her to a day of being pampered at a local day spa, as long as Mom spends the day with her children, she will have a very special day indeed!
